Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. The role requires safe and effective completion of janitorial duties, hazardous waste handling, and maintenance of cleaning equipment.

• Perform janitorial duties as listed on the daily schedule.
• Collect, classify, sort, store, ship, receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Watch for risk behavior of others and self, stopping it when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with team members and other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks and maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Respond to direction and supervision; communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages and support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment and present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction; understand reporting systems.

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months of training or experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess a valid driver’s license; completed all safety and task training certification.
• May need forklift certification.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals, including safe and efficient use.
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Position has no supervisory responsibilities.

On Call:
Monday to Friday. $19.00 – $20.00 per hour.
