Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer services to residents, family and staff.
- Cleans all common areas according to standards and practices including nursing stations, elevators, halls, landings, stairs, resident activity areas, lobbies, and offices as scheduled or requested by the supervisor.
- Thoroughly cleans all assigned resident rooms and bathrooms.
- Floor care, including sweeping and mopping.
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly
- Unload deliveries and stock supplies.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies
- Perform light maintenances tasks.
- Report broken equipment or safety issues to supervisor.
- Vacuum all exposed areas completely, including edges.
- Washes inside of windows as needed.
- Assist with cleaning wheelchairs and equipment.
- Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures.
- Collect linen, garments, etc., and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas.
- Wash soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., in accordance with established procedures.
- Fold, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents daily and/or as instructed.
- Clean floors, including damp/wet mopping.
- Keep walls clean by washing, wiping, spot cleaning, disinfecting.
- Remove dirt dust, grease, film, etc., from equipment or floor surfaces, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
- Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take appropriate action.
- Ability to visually assess all aspects of facility.
- Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures and to hear and respond to pages.
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop and have fine hand coordination.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred but we will train the right candidate.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Understands the practices surrounding the proper handling of biohazardous waste.
