the custodial supervisor serves as the second-in-charge of daily custodial operations under the direction of the custodial/maintenance supervisor. This position assists with the overall coordination of the department and provides direct supervision, leadership, scheduling, training, and oversight of assigned custodial employees.

in the absence of the custodial/maintenance supervisor, the custodial supervisor provides day-to-day operational direction to ensure departmental services continue effectively and concerns are appropriately communicated through the established chain of command.

• serves as the primary operational support to the custodial/maintenance supervisor and assists with daily management of the department.
• provides direct supervision, work assignments, scheduling, and daily directions to assigned custodial staff.
• provides day-to-day departmental direction in the absence of the custodial/maintenance supervisor within delegated authority.
• monitors employee attendance, performance, productivity, and completion of assigned work.
• uses kronos for scheduling, timecards, missed punches, leave, attendance, and other assigned timekeeping responsibilities.
• uses mep for employee performance plans, evaluations, performance documentation, and required employee discussions.
• assists with employee interviews, selection recommendations, coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary recommendations as appropriate.
• conducts departmental orientation, including cleaning procedures, equipment, chemicals, ppe, infection prevention, safety, and departmental expectations.
• conducts routine inspections and ensures cleaning, sanitation, environmental, and safety deficiencies are corrected.
• coordinates routine cleaning, deep cleaning, floor care, room preparation, and special projects.
• monitors custodial supplies, equipment, inventory, and departmental needs and communicate needs to the custodial/maintenance supervisor.
• assists with environmental rounds, survey readiness, quality improvement, and corrective actions.
• coordinates with nursing, infection prevention, safety, maintenance, administration, and other departments as needed.
• performs hands‑on custodial duties when needed due to staffing shortages, emergencies, special projects, or operational needs.
• keeps the custodial maintenance supervisor informed of significant staffing, performance, safety, supply, and operational concerns.
• performs other related duties consistent with the spo classification and departmental needs.
• assists with rfi's, purchase orders, and purchase requests for the department
