New Milford Public Schools is seeking an Excellent Nighttime Custodian at Sarah Noble Intermediate School.
Hours are 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Salary is per Custodial bargaining unit agreement.
It is necessary that candidates complete an online application and supply at least 2 signed, current and dated letters of reference which must be uploaded to your online application.
- Some knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment typically used in janitorial work.
- Ability to understand and perform simple oral and written instructions.
- Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to cleaning equipment.
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform a variety of routine custodial tasks in the care and limited maintenance of buildings and equipment.
- Works under the supervision of the Facilities Manager or its designee.
- Scrubs, mops, waxes and polishes floors; dusts and polishes furniture; washes windows, woodwork, disinfects washrooms, toilets and fixtures.
- Moves office and institutional furniture and equipment from place to place as directed.
- Collects and disposes of rubbish; replaces burned out light bulbs; assists in making simple repairs to building and equipment.
- Sweeps, shovels and salts sidewalks, and performs other minor maintenance tasks, picks up indoor and outdoor litter, performs security functions of buildings and other tasks as directed.
- Performs moderately heavy manual work in cleaning and caring for public buildings and institutions; performs related work as required.
