America's second oldest horse racing track, the Fair Grounds has been a New Orleans staple since 1852. We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.

JOB SUMMARY:

Keeps assigned areas in the facility clean.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and mops all floors, cleans and polished lighting fixtures, counter surfaces, vacuums rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture, dusts furniture and cleans assigned equipment and polishes metalwork.
• Wash walls, ceiling and woodwork. Wash windows, door panels and sills. Cleans assigned hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other assigned work areas. Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms.
• Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays and transports trash and waste to disposal area. Replenishes bathroom supplies on a regular basis when open to the public. Handles all cleaning substances according to proper handling procedures. Notifies maintenance of replacement light bulbs needed and location. Completes all housekeeping assignments within the time allotted for the assignment. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Racing Commission. Must be 21 years old. Must be able to obtain a Gaming and Racing License from Louisiana. 1-2 years of experience in housekeeping. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
