Introduction

Oak Hills Living Center is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This position plays a key role in ensuring our facility, equipment, and grounds are well‑maintained and operating efficiently.

Responsibilities Facility & Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work
  • Inspect, test, and maintain equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Maintain heating and cooling systems in accordance with guidelines
  • Complete work orders and document maintenance activities
Grounds & Building Care
  • Maintain sidewalks, parking areas, and outdoor grounds (mowing, trimming, snow/ice removal as needed)
  • Ensure safe and hazard‑free conditions throughout the facility
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures, infection control standards, and facility policies
  • Use proper lockout/tagout procedures when necessary
  • Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues promptly
Support & Teamwork
  • Assist vendors, contractors, and inspectors as needed
  • Help move equipment and supplies safely
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and quality improvement activities
  • Provide support and training to new team members
Resident‑Focused Care
  • Complete maintenance tasks with consideration for resident comfort and dignity
  • Coordinate work to minimize disruption to residents’ daily routines
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous maintenance experience is helpful but not required – we will train the right candidate
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and repair techniques preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Shift Requirements
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday‑Friday with on‑call rotation
