IntroductionOak Hills Living Center is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This position plays a key role in ensuring our facility, equipment, and grounds are well‑maintained and operating efficiently.
Responsibilities Facility & Equipment Maintenance- Perform routine maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work
- Inspect, test, and maintain equipment to ensure proper operation
- Maintain heating and cooling systems in accordance with guidelines
- Complete work orders and document maintenance activities
- Maintain sidewalks, parking areas, and outdoor grounds (mowing, trimming, snow/ice removal as needed)
- Ensure safe and hazard‑free conditions throughout the facility
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Follow all safety procedures, infection control standards, and facility policies
- Use proper lockout/tagout procedures when necessary
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues promptly
- Assist vendors, contractors, and inspectors as needed
- Help move equipment and supplies safely
- Participate in trainings, meetings, and quality improvement activities
- Provide support and training to new team members
- Complete maintenance tasks with consideration for resident comfort and dignity
- Coordinate work to minimize disruption to residents’ daily routines
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous maintenance experience is helpful but not required – we will train the right candidate
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and repair techniques preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- 40 hours per week
- Monday‑Friday with on‑call rotation
