Evening Custodian (Full Time)

We are currently seeking an Evening Custodian for our New Ulm Public Schools. This position involves participating in all building cleaning activities listed under cleaning schedules and procedures such as mopping, sweeping, or cleaning all floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets; dusting all cabinets, desks, and surfaces; cleaning all glass partitions and windows; scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors; spot cleaning spills/stains on floors or surfaces;

removing vandalism marks from building or equipment; cleaning, sanitizing, and polishing all washroom fixtures; filling all dispensers, gathering and disposing of refuse. May conduct ground maintenance including landscaping, snow removal, painting, raking, or other similar tasks. Consults with lead custodian regarding unusual maintenance problems and makes recommendations concerning the purchase of supplies, material, and equipment. Checks to ensure that buildings are heated/cooled, cleaned, locked, and unlocked in readiness for all activities, sporting events, concerts, meetings, or special events.

Keeps simple activity records. Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow directions with attention to detail
• Able to climb 20-30 feet
• Able to lift 50-60 pounds
• Endurance to walk/stand for majority of shift

Compensation Package:
This position offers a starting wage of $18.46 - $24.35 per hour, based on experience. Additionally, a benefits package is available that includes health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision insurance, and 403b retirement plan.
