* As a CBRE Union Helper, you will perform technical, and non-technicalgeneral building maintenance, and minor repair duties.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and HVAC equipment and systems.

The schedule is 11pm-7am Monday and Tuesday, 7am-3pm Friday, 11pm-7am Saturday and Sunday

This position is located at Brookfield Place- 300 Vesey St.

300 Vesey Street is a 15-story building located along the Hudson River waterfront at Brookfield Place. ** What You'll Do:*
* + Assist the engineering staff in operating the building mechanical and HVAC systems

+ Assist in the maintenance and repairs of all equipment incidental to the operation of the building mechanical and HVACsystems

+ Perform general labor work as assigned including receiving deliveries, loading, unloading, moving materials, and putting awaystock.

+ Perform building checks of mechanical areas andlogging conditions during daily rounds

+ Identify and report maintenance hazards or otherproperty condition concerns.

+ This includes, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and painting.

+ Perform other minor repairs under supervision.

+ Respond quickly to emergency situations,summoning additional assistance as needed.

+ Follow a set procedure in the performance ofrepetitive tasks or job activities.

+ Impact through methods, tasks, and duties whichare clearly defined and followed with little to no discretion.

** What You'll Need:*
* + A35 - Operate and Maintain Air Compressors

+ F60 - Fire Guard for Torch Operation

+ G60 - Torch Operation

+ S12 - Citywide Sprinkler System

+ S13 - Standpipe System

+ S14 - Standpipe System, multi zone

+ S95 - Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems

+ F01 - Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment

+ P98 - Supervise Fuel Oil Transfer

+ P99 - Low Pressure Oil Burner Operator

+ High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college program or technical school.

+ May require a valid driver's license.

+ Physical requirements include stooping,standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

+ Ability to develop skills to perform basicactivities in own job.

+ Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.

+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

+ Organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

+ Simple math skills. Ability to calculate simplefigures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.

Assist the engineer and/or mechanic in the performance of their duties and perform tasks appropriate to his/her skill level outside the presence of an engineer/mechanic as directed by management and/or engineers/mechanics.  The partiesrecognize that management's hiring and use of helpers is essential to the industry's successful future.  The position of helper is designed to be a step on the path to becoming an engineer.  Hence, after January 1, 2011,it is the parties' intent that the helper classification will not be available to newly hired helpers on a "career" basis, except on the mutual consent of the Employer and Union.
