Maintenance Technician

Overview

Maintenance Technician (Finance) — Staten Island facility.

Salary range - $35-40/hr depending on level of experience.

• Maintains and cleans tools and equipment; performs preventative maintenance on various equipment.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment used in wastewater treatment. Typical tasks include checking/changing oil, checking belt tension, changing air filters, etc.
• Performs corrective preventative maintenance on equipment used in wastewater treatment. Typical tasks include pulling pumps from tanks or vaults, repairing and replacing PVC pipework, installing new equipment, etc.
• Assists other Maintenance Technician team members in performing various projects and tasks.
• Assists in training new team members and assists with project scheduling and team management as needed.
• Maintains files and records of work orders and task completion; orders materials.
• Removes snow from roadways inside the building complex.
• Cleans the shop area.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Willing to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings and 24-hour emergency on call.

Education/

Experience:

High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid Driver's License. Preferred — training in confined space entry and/or 40 hour HAZWOPER training.

Technical:
Ability to follow manuals and operating instructions. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, internet, and CMMS systems. Advanced knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance activities. Knowledge of hazardous material handling.
