Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina is currently recruiting for an experienced Chief Engineer to join the hotel’s Engineering team. The Chief Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the physical infrastructure and systems. This position assists the Director of Engineering in overseeing the engineering and maintenance department, ensuring that the hotel's facilities are in optimal condition and that safety and environmental standards are met.
Additional duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Communicates with city/county/state officials to ensure the proper maintenance of permits and licenses, to coordinate required inspections and to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members.
- Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations.
- Assists in interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.
- Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
- Ensure maintenance of tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Maintain records of types and frequency of maintenance.
- Make approved purchases of supplies, equipment and services.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the property.

- 3–5 years of mechanical equipment experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree or Technical School experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to train and mentor team members
- Ability to operate mechanical equipment and tools such as scissor lifts and forklifts
- Excellent English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking fluently
- Proficiency in computer software such as Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to read building drawings, schematics, and diagrams
- Ability to perform basic electrical work, plumbing, kitchen equipment repairs while managing maintenance programs for all equipment
