Substitute Grounds worker​/Courier

We have 2-3 anticipated longer continual assignments that we need substitutes for. The exact date range and details will be determined at interview or hire.

POSITION TITLE: Grounds Worker

Pay: Current Contract Rate: $21.00/ Hour

A Grounds worker performs all the duties relating to activities relating to the care of facilities, parking lots, play areas, athletic fields and equipment in the schools in order that they be kept attractive, hygienic, safe, comfortable, and clean for those using them.

• Regular daily attendance;
• Must be ambulatory; ability to walk and carry heavy items and to be able to operate all required equipment;
• Must have good vision; ability to see well enough to meet standards set by supervisor or district;
• Must possess physical strength; enough strength to lift, move, and carry heavy items throughout the day;
• Intelligence; must be able to evaluate a problem, devise and implement a solution;
• Must possess social skills; must be able to work in a team

• Mows grass on grounds and play areas;
• Snow plows parking areas;
• Seeds and re-plant areas;
• Prunes trees and shrubs;
• Lines athletic fields;
• Other duties as

Reports directly to the Head Grounds worker and/or Maintenance Mechanic Crew Chief.

Does not supervise other employees.

• Graduation for high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma;
• One year experience in landscape work;
• Working knowledge of maintenance and minor repair of motors, mowers;
• Working knowledge of mechanical equipment (trucks, tractors, gang mowers);
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written
