Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician supports the Facilities Manager and Senior Project Manager in relocations, carpentry requests (and office reconfigurations), meeting setups, and all maintenance work orders. The role focuses on building a strong rapport with customers, resolving issues to customer satisfaction, and maintaining a professional, businesslike demeanor in all interactions.
Responsibilities- Set up conference rooms for meetings (tables, chairs, and repeated setups).
- Respond to work orders from the MRI-Angus Service requests system; accept, put on hold, close, and add comments on the status of requests on a mobile device or computer.
- Deliver and pick up Iron Mountain archive boxes from clients; notify the Facilities Manager when the staging/storage room is ready for pickup.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs—lamp replacement, LED driver changes, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry with power tools, small plumbing repairs, adjust comfort cooling requests, secure cove base, hang artwork, install shelving, perform small carpet repairs, and level shades in conference rooms.
- Escort deliveries and contractors; advise the Facilities Manager on supplies needed for the maintenance shop.
- Verify that services are performed as scheduled; alert appropriate parties to any problems.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments for customer carpentry requests as needed.
- Assist the Client’s Project Manager with internal relocations; work on projects, maintenance, and repair work, and day‑to‑day operations.
- Perform additional essential duties as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum five years of experience working in a Class A commercial property (preferred).
- Strong communication skills; capable of responding to inquiries or complaints from clients or members of the business community in a professional, businesslike manner.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent rapport with customers and resolve difficult issues to satisfaction.
- Computer skills: operate a computer, power tools, and a 2‑way radio.
- Reasoning skills: organize and prioritize responsibilities, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and apply logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building plans and blueprints.
The role requires frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting heavy objects, climbing stairs, and walking through crowded areas. The technician must be authorized and have the right to work in the country where the role is located without the need for current or future sponsorship.
