Job Title

Laborer

12‑month full‑time position, starting immediately.

Current contract rate: $16.67 / hour, with shift differential ($18.00 /hour).

Hours:

3:00 PM‑11:30 PM, Monday‑Friday.

• General knowledge of cleaning procedures.
• General knowledge of the operation of power tools.
• High School diploma or GED. (High school/trade school degree preferred.)

• Regular daily attendance.
• Must be ambulatory; able to walk and carry heavy items and operate custodial equipment.
• Must have good vision; able to meet cleaning standards set by supervisor or district.
• Must possess physical strength sufficient to lift, move, and carry heavy items throughout the day.
• Must be able to evaluate problems, devise and implement solutions.
• Must possess social skills and be able to work in a team environment.

• Machine and manual floor scrubbing and carpet shampooing, waxing, and buffing.
• Snow shoveling, mowing, trimming, edging grass, trimming shrubbery, weeding, raking, lawn repair, cleaning walking paths and parking lots, and assisting in the care and preparation of athletic fields.
• Mopping floors in areas such as cafeteria, kitchen, locker, shower rooms, and lavatories.
• General cleaning such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning glass (inside and out), wall washing.
• Stock handling, replenishing supplies, replacing light bulbs.
• Assisting a custodian in various situations where two people might be necessary for safety or heavy work.
• Other activities related to job goals as required.
