Support Services Technician - Wash

Taconic Biosciences is seeking a full‑time Support Services Technician to join the Wash team at the Germantown, NY site.

$20 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on factors such as location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. The upper end of the range is not guaranteed.

Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., giving a three‑day weekend each week.

As a Support Services Technician, you will be an integral part of the Wash team. Your primary responsibility is to clean and sterilize cages housing animals. Each technician focuses on a specific area but may cross‑train in various tasks.

• Operate specialized cage washers to keep animal barrier supplies clean.
• Safely maneuver equipment and products using forklifts.
• Perform regular maintenance to keep equipment functioning optimally.
• Process animal barrier orders, ensuring timely supply delivery.
• Participate in assembly of Individually Ventilated Cages (IVC).

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant work experience or equivalent training.
• Effective communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation (training provided).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.

Physical demands include frequent climbing, crouching, crawling, lifting up to 75 pounds, and use of chemicals and heavy machinery. Exposure to occupational hazards, extremes in temperature, weather, odors, and noise may occur. Reasonable accommodations can be made.
