Position Overview
Provide quality cleanliness oversight to assigned building(s).
SalaryMinimum: USD $40,000.00 per year
Maximum: USD $45,000.00 per year
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility. This includes but is not limited to floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, stripping and waxing), cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, separating recyclables, emptying garbage, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways.
- Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility.
- Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the grounds, including sidewalk maintenance, maintaining landscaping, and all other aspects of the building exterior.
- Assist staff with special events by setting chairs and tables up, ensuring the area is clean and safe.
- Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure all items are in good working condition.
- If the program does not have a superintendent, order cleaning supplies, paper supplies, light bulbs, garbage bags, etc., and maintain biweekly inventory.
- Assist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items in and around the facility when appropriate.
- Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures and Protocols, SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies.
- Willing to assist when emergencies arise in the facility.
- Wear SUS maintenance uniform and maintain the uniform so it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift.
- Complete other tasks assigned by the Director or Superintendent.
- Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as needed.
- Assist with apartment turnover following move-outs to prepare apartments for new families, including plastering, sanding walls and painting; transport residents and property to new apartments/units.
- At least one year of maintenance & cleaning experience in a large residential or program setting.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
- Beneficial to have experience working within a supportive housing setting.
