Automotive Mechanic- Level

Job Summary

Entry level position:
Performs light duty repairs on AMR fleet vehicles, assists senior mechanics and provides logistical support as assigned.

• Perform light mechanical and electrical repairs on AMR vehicles.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested.
• Provide logistical support for the department. Assist Front Line Mechanics as needed.
• Operate company vehicles in accordance with company policy and safe practices.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation neatly, correctly and on time using AMR repair orders.
• Use maintenance database to document all completed tasks and job assignments.
• Attend all mandatory fleet related training.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Follow information systems security policies and procedures. Attend security training when offered. Report any security problems.
• Ensure vehicles repaired correctly and in a timely fashion.
• Respond to changing departmental priorities.
• Quickly diagnose and repair vehicles during road call situations.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Keep documentation complete and neat.
• Accurately account for all parts and materials.
• Maintain good working relationship with all personnel and professional conduct with outside contacts.
• Provide excellent customer service skills.

• Must have a current valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• At least 1 year verifiable line mechanic or mechanic helper/associate experience.
• 2 ASE certifications (truck or automotive series). Preferably brake and steering/suspension.
• MACS AC certification or equivalent ASE certification.
• Basic set of personal tools.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions on memos, letters, various documents and repair manuals.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Basic automotive knowledge and skills necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on company vehicles.
• Must have a full set of personal tools.

Fleet Manager.

Interrelationships:
Operations and other support departments.
