Location: New York
Responsibilities
Madison County CCE is looking for a part‑time custodian to provide custodial service for CCE Madison County Association buildings.
- Clean, dust, polish, vacuum, wet mop, sweep, and maintain floors on a regular basis.
- Empty and clean all waste receptacles, remove trash and recyclable materials.
- Use and maintain assigned equipment and hand tools while ensuring storage rooms are orderly and neat.
- Ensure restroom and kitchen facilities are clean, orderly, and supplied with sufficient paper products.
- Wash walls, windows, and sills on a regular basis.
- Paint rooms and perform simple carpentry to keep building in shape.
- Sweep/shovel snow from stair/walks and keep entrances clean from debris.
- Lawn care may be included.
- Responsible for complying with all OSHA/PESHA safety regulations in performance of duties.
- Additional duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Grounds maintenance such as mowing grass, maintaining shrubbery, weeding, fertilizing, and shoveling/salting entrances and parking lots.
- Building cleaning and upkeep on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, including emptying waste baskets, cleaning washroom facilities and replacing lavatory supplies, mopping, sweeping, waxing, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Assisting with security of buildings and grounds (opening, closing and locking doors).
- Minor troubleshooting and routine maintenance of equipment such as tractors, lighting fixtures, and building mechanical equipment.
- Vehicle and equipment record maintenance and storage assistance for boats, cars and recreational vehicles.
- Set up and clean‑up for special events and meetings, including off‑site County fair tear down.
Required qualifications:
- High School or Equivalent Education.
- Experience relevant to the role of the position.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Ability to clearly communicate and read/write in English.
- Basic Computer Skills, including use of e‑mail and computer‑based time collection.
- Physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, shovel snow, and carry supplies and equipment.
- Ability to climb and perform work from a ladder.
- Demonstrated ability to provide cleaning, maintenance, and repair work.
- Knowledge of cleaning, maintenance, and repair methods, materials, and techniques applicable to public buildings.
- Ability to work independently and complete work within a reasonable time frame.
- Ability to identify and address safety concerns in the workplace.
- Ability to work effectively with co‑workers.
- Ability to communicate with supervisor and staff regarding job duties.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and assume responsibility with general guidelines and direction.
- Ability to plan and organize work responsibilities according to priorities developed with the immediate supervisor.
- Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
- Experience in facilities and/or grounds maintenance, including light maintenance tasks such as changing light ballasts, minor plumbing, and painting.
Hours per week: 10–15. Pay: $17–$18 per hour. Position is part‑time, hourly, with no grade. Company:
