Porter, Maintenance​/Cleaning

General Summary

Real Estate Residential Management Company located within Queens, NY is seeking a qualified Porter to fill a full time position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coverage of the building, maintain and repair tenant apartments, and carry out general building maintenance projects. Support day to day maintenance work and other duties as necessary.

• Clean and maintain a professional appearance in hallways, lobbies, elevators, and the interior/exterior of the building
• Troubleshoot and correct compactor deficiencies
• Communicate with tenants – tenant relations
• Write up on tenant issues and inquiries
• Demonstrate literacy, reading, and writing ability
• Able to communicate effectively via radio and in person
• Clean all apartments where maintenance work was performed
• Work effectively in a team environment
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

• Must have direct and proven experience as a Porter in a residential, commercial, or professional services environment
• Must have excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor
• Able to effectively communicate via radio in a professional manner
• Must have a flexible working schedule

• Positive attitude & outgoing personality
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to multitask
• Experienced when working with construction tools
• Knowledge of carpentry work
• Professional appearance
