Responsibilities
- Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to absenteeism, cellular telephone usage, dress code and rules of conduct.
- Make customer service a priority, treating customers (patients, visitors and co‑workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact.
- Effectively communicate with patients and others about RUMC services in areas of expertise or responsibility and ensures that concerns, questions or issues reach the right persons in RUMC in a timely fashion.
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures.
- Participate in alteration and construction work.
- Pack and replace valves, lay out and install cast iron and copper lines.
- Hook up and install new plumbing fixtures and pertinent equipment.
- Replace sinks, tubs, showers, vent lines and drains, water lines, medical gas outlet and lift fixtures.
- Capable to work on copper, galvanized, black and plastic pipes; can solder and braze.
- Perform all job related duties as required.
- Complete assigned work orders.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and good working condition.
- Report unsafe or irregular conditions to the maintenance manager.
- Clean work areas at the end of each workday.
- Confirm required risk assessments and protective measures are in place and follow ceiling removal policy and shutdown procedures.
Monday – Friday, weekends as needed, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Day Shift – 7.5 hours)
Salary$36.30/hr – $37.14/hr
Qualifications- Education Required – High School diploma or Vocational School training. Courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing or related preferred.
- License(s) Required – None
- Experience/Skills Required – At least two (2) years as Plumber Mechanic performing in alteration and renovation work.
- Attend THE JOINT COMMISSION annual facility-wide training, departmental in-service training and pertinent safety training.
