Overnight Fleet Maintenance Supervisor- Bronx

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of technicians and welders to maintain the company’s equipment and fleet in peak operating conditions. They provide direction to technicians, welders, and administrative personnel to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed safely, efficiently, and promptly. The supervisor manages preventative maintenance, repairs of company equipment, parts procurement, inventory management, asset tracking, and cost control, and utilizes fleet management and onboard computing software to monitor vehicle performance and cost.

• Provide direction to lead and skill‑level technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and timely repair and maintenance work.
• Report performance to management and recommend process improvements.
• Supervise technicians in the maintenance shop, conduct daily shop huddles, yard checks, coaching, and training; handle hiring/termination decisions in concert with Human Resources; conduct employee training, evaluations, merit increase, promotion, and job change recommendations.
• Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure compliance with the company’s safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
• Identify training opportunities, document issues, and constructively discuss corrective action with technicians.
• Conduct quality‑control inspections, track issues and resolutions to ensure work meets safety and compliance standards.
• Oversee repair diagnostics on complex matters, provide coaching, and road‑test vehicles when necessary.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, electrical, heating, and air‑conditioning systems; apply this knowledge to engine chassis repair, vehicle body control systems, and welding tools to keep equipment operable swiftly and safely.
• Manage administrative matters for the team, including payroll, maintenance of employee records, preventive and corrective maintenance records, and data entry into TMT Maintenance Software.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a supervisor or foreman/team lead.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical systems, air brakes, medium and heavy‑duty diesel engines, and computer‑aided diagnostics tools such as CAT ET, Cummins Insite, and Premium Tech Tool.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  Spanish bilingualism strongly preferred.
• Advanced experience with fleet management and onboard computing software.
• Strong knowledge of DOT CMV rules, OSHA, and other federal and local regulations and requirements.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.

This role is bonus eligible as part of the compensation package.
