We are seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Manager to lead at a well‑established manufacturing company in Central NY. This opportunity is for a strong maintenance leader who is passionate about driving continuous improvement & team building. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and a proven track record of improving safety and overall plant performance. Location:
Central NY. Relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.
- Oversee daily maintenance activities, ensuring equipment and facility issues are resolved quickly to minimize production downtime
- Lead, train, and develop the maintenance team to drive strong performance and technical capability
- Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs, including CMMS, work orders, and parts inventory
- Troubleshoot and support repairs on food processing and packaging equipment (electrical and mechanical)
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and EHS to support plant performance and food safety standards
- Ensure compliance with FDA, FSMA, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Track KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, efficiency, and reliability
- Manage maintenance budgets, capital projects, and cost‑saving initiatives
- Manage and coordinate third‑party contractor for both planned and emergency maintenance work
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent technical/trade experience considered
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing (food & beverage preferred)
- Strong experience with production equipment, preventative maintenance, and team leadership
- Knowledge of plant utilities (boilers, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, electrical systems)
- Experience with PLCs, instrumentation, and CMMS systems
- Understanding of GMP, food safety, and OSHA requirements
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross‑functionally
