Position SummaryThe Junior Botanical Garden Custodian, under general supervision, performs work of ordinary difficulty and responsibility, which may entail supervision in cleaning, maintaining and enforcing safety requirements in one or more small buildings. Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of small public buildings, performing tasks such as office moves, setup and breakdown of tents, chairs and tables, sweeping, dusting, mopping, high-speed buffing, waxing carpet cleaning by bonnet, cold and hot water extraction, power washing, gathering and disposing of refuse;
cleaning and removing snow from walkways.
Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of small public buildings, performing tasks such as office moves, setup and breakdown of tents, chairs and tables, sweeping, dusting, mopping, high-speed buffing, waxing carpet cleaning by bonnet, cold and hot water extraction, power washing, gathering and disposing of refuse; cleaning and removing snow from walkways.
Requirements- 2 years of full-time experience in cleaning and maintaining buildings in a large cultural institution or education facility.
Ability to move 25 lbs and lift overhead, stand for long periods of time, work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Baseline Work ScheduleFriday to Tuesday, 10 AM – 6 PM.
Regular days off:
Wednesday and Thursday.
$39,044 (* $44,901)
* Current Garden union employees that have been employed for 2 years qualify for the higher salary rate. If a non-Garden and non-union applicant is appointed, they will be eligible to advance to the higher incumbent rate after two years.
