Salary Range: $20.45 - $20.45 hourly;
Prevailing Wage: $20.45 with $1.25 supplemental wage.

Hours:

Monday‑Friday 8:30‑2:00 (½ hour unpaid lunch) – 25 hours a week.

The Cleaner will align his/her scope of work with Jawonio’s Mission, while incorporating Jawonio’s Core Values as the guiding principle for all work activities.

Provides cleaning services for contracted commercial and Agency work sites.

• Performs daily and periodic floor care, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, etc.
• Empties ashtrays, waste baskets, removes trash from assigned areas.
• Dusts and/or wipes down furniture, baseboards, ledges, tables/chairs, sinks/counter tops, appliances, light fixtures, mirrors, walls & doors, using appropriate cleaning agent and supplies. Dusts high and low areas as needed.
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.
• Performs detailed work and metal work as needed or assigned.
• Complies with safety procedures, including blood borne pathogens, OSHA, MSDS, etc., and reports violations or issues regarding the safety policy to supervisor.
• Performs special projects as needed, including floor mats, loading docks, etc.
• Performs work without disturbing customer equipment, paperwork, work in progress, etc.
• Maintains safe, orderly work area and practices.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Required to work at alternate job locations based on operational needs.
• Understands or promptly learns pertinent OSHA standards and requirements.

• High School Diploma or 1‑2 years janitorial experience, or combination of education and experience.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

The position involves tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. The noise level is usually moderate.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, often stand, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and because of constant bending and trunk rotation must maintain stability. The employee must also be able to talk, hear, and smell.
