Full Time Cleaners Needed

We are looking for two full‑time cleaners – one for each shift listed below.

• Day shift 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Tuesday – Saturday (Saturday hours vary based on district needs)
• Night shift 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday

Current hourly rate: $16.75

Primary responsibilities include routine manual cleaning and minor maintenance tasks under general supervision. Typical work activities are:

• Sweep and mop floors and stairs
• Dust chairs, tables and other furniture
• Wash windows, walls, sinks and other fixtures
• Polish furniture and metal furnishings
• Empty waste baskets, collect and dispose of rubbish
• Replace soap and towels
• Wax floors
• Move and arrange chairs, tables and other furnishings and equipment
• Cleans clothes, equipment and other laundry items using washing and drying machines
• May load and unload materials, parts or products manually or using a hoist
• May shovel snow from sidewalks, stairs and other passages
• May direct facility users to appropriate areas and observe their conduct to report violations of facility rules
• May open, close and check building securing windows, locks and doors
• May collect, fold, sort and distribute laundry and linen items
• May perform minor maintenance tasks
• May operate a motor vehicle to travel from one work site to another

Ability to acquire knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies and equipment; ability to follow instructions; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other manual tasks; good observation skills; integrity; reliability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Minimum qualifications:

None. In jurisdictions where required, possession and maintenance of the appropriate class NYS driver’s license.

Per regulations of the Commissioner of Education, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required for positions involving direct contact with students.
