Position SummaryThe Housekeeping Supervisor at the Beren Campus is responsible for day-to-day housekeeping responsibilities, which include the cleaning of academic facilities, labs, offices, cafeterias, and dormitories. Also included are all set-ups required for academic and event activities on the campus, and coordinating projects with the maintenance supervisors.
Work ScheduleMonday - Thursday 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Position Responsibilities- Supervise the night shift Housekeeping staff to ensure that all areas of the Beren Campus are properly cleaned and maintained
- Ensure that any setups needed for morning programming are completed
- Assign staff tasks
- Other related duties, as assigned
- Respond to campus facility emergencies at all times
- Discipline employees in coordination with Human Resources as required
- Associate’s Degree and/or 3-5 years of experience working in a diverse housekeeping environment
- Knowledge of general union guidelines and operating procedures
- Experience in higher education is preferred
- Speaks clearly and expresses self well in one-on-one conversations and groups
- Interacts and proactively shares information with internal and external contacts where appropriate
- Develops effective relationships with peers, students, and employees
- Assumes responsibility to ensure issues/concerns will be addressed and monitors them through to conclusion
- Effectively manages own time and resources
- Customer service first attitude
- Spanish language skills a plus
- Self-motivated
- Driven toward increasing knowledge and technical certifications
