** to join our Facilities team. In this role, you will help maintain our community-based locations across Queens by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and groundskeeping to ensure our sites remain clean, safe, and operational for staff, participants, and visitors.###

** Position Summary
** The Maintenance Worker / Handyperson is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and maintenance of QCH facilities and grounds. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a variety of maintenance tasks while ensuring a safe and clean environment.###
** Essential Responsibilities
*** Perform routine cleaning activities, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep.
* Complete minor repairs, such as repairing broken locks, patching walls, and fixing small maintenance issues.
* Inspect control panels and electrical wiring to identify potential problems.
* Install appliances, furniture, and equipment as needed.
* Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns, collecting litter, and performing seasonal groundskeeping.
* Conduct preventative maintenance, including replacing light bulbs and performing routine inspections.
* Inspect and troubleshoot building systems, including ventilation and mechanical equipment.
* Ensure safety systems, including fire alarms and emergency equipment, are functioning properly.
* Collaborate with contractors and other professionals during facility renovations and repair projects.
* Report maintenance concerns, repair needs, and safety issues to the Facilities or Maintenance Manager.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety regulations.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.## Qualifications###
** Qualifications
* ** High school diploma or GED preferred.
* Previous experience in building maintenance, custodial services, facilities, or a related field.
* General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and basic HVAC systems.
* Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work, including bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
* Valid driver's license preferred.###
