Janitor, Cleaning Services, Facility Maintenance
This position is Full-Time and 100% In Person
For over 65 years, LSA Family Health Service, a community-based nonprofit in East Harlem, has supported thousands of diverse and immigrant families striving to build better lives. LSA provides families with the most critical resources they need – food, clothing, healthcare, education, a safe home, and advocacy services. We believe by supporting and empowering families, our entire community will thrive.
Position Overview: The Custodian is responsible for cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs at our East Harlem Center, which includes offices, a kitchen, an outdoor play space, and areas for childcare and client services. The Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy, safe, and welcoming environment for the many people who come through our doors each day.
A Typical Day: Your morning begins with a quick walkthrough of the lobby and entryway to ensure everything is clean and in order. Soon, the hallways will be filled with laughter and conversation. You make sure the classrooms smell fresh, the kitchen shines, and the office and therapy spaces are inviting and ready for the day. As the day unfolds, you greet staff and families with a smile while keeping things running smoothly by restocking the restrooms, assembling desks, and ensuring each conference room is set up for the day’s events.
By the day’s end, you feel proud, knowing that your work makes everything we do at LSA possible.
