Part‑time, Regular, 15 hours per week.

Work Shift:

UR – Evening.
Compensation: $18.38 – $24.94 per hour (collective bargaining agreement).

Environmental Services SMH.

• Perform general heavy and light cleaning and housekeeping services in University buildings such as residence halls, hospital, administration/academic buildings, and other facilities.
• Operate a variety of housekeeping and floor maintenance machines and equipment to strip, wax, and buff floors; use wet and dry mops, sweeps, and dusters.
• Carry out cleaning and disinfecting procedures, including fogging rooms and washing floors, walls, furniture, and fixtures with germicidal detergents.
• Wash walls, ceilings, stairs, and overhead equipment such as vents and light fixtures; vacuum rugs, furniture, and draperies; clean, dust, and wax furniture; make empty beds; distribute linen.
• Take down, wash, and rehang venetian blinds, screens, draperies, and curtains; wash windows inside and outside.
• Empty wastebaskets into pickup containers, pick up trash from designated areas, load trash into large dump trucks, and push to compactor area; wash large trash cans and wastebaskets inside and outside; clean blackboards, doors, and similar surfaces.
• Clean kitchens and dining areas.
• Perform custodial duties such as moving equipment or furniture up or down stairs, tightening doorknobs and latch plates, adjusting traverses, cleaning elevator door tracks, changing light bulbs, shoveling snow, and maintaining work storage closets and equipment.

• Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
• Stand, walk, bend, and reach continuously; handle heavy and medium‑weight material, equipment, and supplies.
• Be accustomed to exposure to refuse, dirt, dust, detergents, body waste, and odors indoors and outdoors; occasionally exposed to contact with infections and infectious diseases.
