Shrub Oak International School (SOIS) is a therapeutic day and residential school for autistic children, adolescents, and young adults with complex co‑occurring conditions. Located in northern Westchester County, Shrub Oak offers unparalleled educational opportunities for autistic students in a family‑centric, supportive environment. We are a residential boarding school located on a scenic 127‑acre campus which includes multiple buildings and a working farm for student programming. • You have a passion for working with the autism population and ensuring the safety and well‑being of students and staff.
• You get the job done and are capable of strategic thinking while simultaneously rolling up to your sleeves to lead and teach by example.
• You have proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work
• You have a strong knowledge of floor care techniques including sweeping, mopping, buffing and polishing floors
• You have the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in fast‑paced settings
• You have excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
• You have strong written communication skills, specifically involving documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and other related administrative tasks.

• Owning the tracking, ordering, and budget management of cleaning supplies.
• General oversight of the housekeeping team including coaching, training, time and attendance management.
• Cleaning rooms actively as an individual while overseeing the other Housekeepers and performing cleaning checks to ensure the work is always done to best in class standards.
• Perform thorough cleaning of office space, common areas, and public spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, collecting trash and recycling, cleaning bathrooms and sanitizing surfaces.
• Care for floors by sweeping, mopping, and polishing to maintain a spotless appearance.
• Restock amenities such as toiletries, linens, and supplies.
• Follow established protocols for industrial cleaning and custodial tasks to uphold health and safety standards.
• Assist with laundry duties including washing, folding, and organizing linens and towels.
• Attending to any immediate issues that arise.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure a safe environment for all.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong ability to build relationships with students and peers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
