Porter, Maintenance​/Cleaning

WEST SIDE FED SR.SUP (WSFSSH) seeks a Porter to support a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for senior and supportive housing residents. The Porter will perform daily cleaning of common areas, hallways, bathrooms, offices, and outdoor spaces; handle trash and recycling; and support basic room set-up for resident programs. The role includes light maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and minor snow or debris removal.

Working closely with building staff, the Porter helps ensure facilities meet health, safety, and sanitation standards while treating residents, visitors, and coworkers with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize common areas, hallways, bathrooms, and offices
• Collect, sort, and dispose of trash and recycling according to building procedures
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, fixtures, and surfaces
• Maintain cleanliness of entrances, sidewalks, and outdoor areas, including light snow and debris removal
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper products, and trash liners
• Report maintenance and safety issues to supervisors promptly
• Assist with basic room set-up and breakdown for resident programs and events
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards and WSFSSH policies
• Interact with residents, visitors, and staff in a respectful, resident-centered manner
• Support emergency or special cleaning needs as assigned
