Job Description

The Industrial and Building Maintenance Lead oversees the repair and upkeep of facility structures and production machinery. This hands-on, supervisory role manages maintenance personnel, directs preventive maintenance programs, enforces safety protocols, and coordinates with external contractors to minimize equipment downtime and ensure smooth facility operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership:
    Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance personnel, assigning daily tasks and emergency repair work.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM):
    Develop, execute, and document PM programs for industrial machinery, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair:
    Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment failures, stepping in to perform repairs when necessary.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    Ensure all work meets OSHA regulations, building codes, and company quality standards. Enforce the use of PPE and proper lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Inventory & Vendor Management:
    Oversee spare parts inventory, order operating supplies, and assist in managing external contractors for specialized or large-scale repairs.
  • Reporting:
    Maintain accurate maintenance logs, track repair costs, and monitor facility.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:

    High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or vocational certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or HVAC is preferred. Typically requires 5+ years of hands‑on maintenance experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Strong proficiency in industrial troubleshooting (PLCs, relay logic, motors, conveyors, hydraulics) and facility systems (boilers, chillers, building automation).
  • Soft Skills:

    Excellent problem-solving, team motivation, and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
