The Building Project Coordinator provides overall oversight of facility operations. This position coordinates facilities staff and activities, monitors work orders and preventative facilities needs, tracks regulatory requirements, and helps ensure that building systems and safety requirements are properly maintained.
The ideal candidate is an experienced facilities professional who is comfortable leading staff, coordinating repairs and services, managing priorities, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance, rather than spending the majority of their time performing routine physical work.

The ideal candidate is an experienced facilities professional who is comfortable leading staff, coordinating repairs and services, managing priorities, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance, rather than spending the majority of their time performing routine physical work.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, train, and coordinate facilities staff and daily facilities activities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventative facilities schedules.
- Coordinate work orders and ensure facilities requests are addressed appropriately and timely.
- Monitor facility conditions and coordinate repairs and services with internal staff and outside contractors as needed.
- Track property conditions, work orders, inventory, purchases, and related information through a computerized facilities system.
- Monitor required fire safety, OSHA, and other building system requirements.
- Ensure required regulatory inspections are scheduled, completed on time, and properly documented.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation related to facilities operations and compliance.
- Assist with capital planning and preparation of the capital budget.
- Provide support and coordination during facility emergencies, including emergency calls outside regular business hours.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma and three years of related facilities/building operations experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of related experience, education, or specialized training.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic records.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating facilities operations in a residential, shelter, or other facility environment is preferred.
Candidates with the following certifications are preferred:
- S-12:
City Wide Sprinkler Systems / S-11 Residential Sprinkler Systems - S-13:
City Wide Standpipe Systems - S-95:
Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems and Other Related Systems - P-98:
Fuel-Oil Piping and Storage Systems - F-80:
Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters
Certification flexibility:
Candidates who currently hold the three primary certifications and are willing to obtain the remaining certifications may be considered. We are also open to reviewing strong facilities leadership candidates who do not currently hold all of the required certifications but are willing and able to work toward obtaining them. #ITS1
