Activities:
Assigns employees to various custodial, maintenance, and cleaning tasks, and sets up work schedules. Directs the maintenance and upkeep of school grounds. Inspects maintenance and construction work performed by private contractors or custodial and maintenance employees. Inspects and supervises the maintenance of boilers and heating systems. Inspects and supervises the maintenance of pools. Drafts specifications and plans for repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment.
Collaborates with district architectural and engineering consulting firms as needed. Keeps records and makes reports on building maintenance activities. Prepares annual tentative budget estimates for custodial and maintenance activities. May perform mechanical maintenance activities as necessary.
Full Performance, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Personal Characteristics:
Comprehensive knowledge of large-scale building and grounds maintenance practices. Skill as a general mechanic and ability to inspect the work of building tradesmen. Ability to plan and supervise the work of custodians and cleaners. Mechanical aptitude. Dependability. Physical condition equal to the demands of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of experience in building maintenance activities, at least two of which shall have involved responsible supervisory work, and graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Salary:
Starting at $67,500, commensurate with experience.
