Job Description Overview :We are seeking a skilled, organized, and hands‑on Property Maintenance Coordinator to lead the upkeep and development of our farm. This role is ideal for someone with strong farm infrastructure experience who takes pride in keeping facilities safe, functional, and beautiful. The coordinator will manage daily maintenance operations, oversee small-scale projects, interface with third‑party contractors, and support the overall functionality of our property with an emphasis on long‑term care and cost‑effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:Facilities Maintenance & Repairs
Oversee repairs, construction, and infrastructure maintenance including fencing, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment upkeep. Coordinate routine upkeep to ensure grounds, barns, kennels, paddocks, and staff areas are safe, clean, and operational.
Project Planning & Contractor OversightLead small to mid‑sized construction and renovation projects. Source and supervise third‑party contractors, obtain estimates, and ensure work is completed to standard, on schedule, and within budget.
Safety & Risk ManagementConduct daily job briefings (tailboards) and maintain adherence to OSHA‑aligned safety practices. Identify hazards proactively and respond to issues to ensure a safe work environment for people and animals alike.
Preventive Planning & Cost EvaluationTrack the lifespan of tools, systems, and structures; propose replacement or repair strategies. Balance cost‑effectiveness with durability when sourcing materials and scheduling upgrades.
Team Communication & DelegationWork closely with leadership and animal care teams to coordinate timing of projects with minimal disruption. Delegate tasks to internal staff when appropriate and maintain clear, timely communication on progress.
Reporting & DocumentationMaintain logs of work performed, material usage, contractor activity, and maintenance schedules. Provide regular updates to management and flag budget or timeline concerns proactively. Adept at digital work order and asset management systems.
Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of experience in farm property maintenance or construction coordination.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe operating procedures for farm tools and machinery.
- Comfortable with tracking, inventory, technology, etc.
- Experience sourcing, hiring, and managing third‑party contractors.
- Proficiency in time and task management, with an ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Strong communication and record‑keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead small teams.
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions year‑round.
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred); experience operating farm vehicles and equipment preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Capable of working in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- Able to perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working with tools for extended periods.
