Our client, a leader in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to be the linchpin of their manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal as the key technical resource, focusing on proactive preventative maintenance, resolving electronic and mechanical equipment issues, and elevating production efficiency. The Maintenance Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering or the Director of Maintenance.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee work orders, ensuring effective resource allocation and report management.
- Administer a robust preventive maintenance program, guaranteeing tasks are executed proficiently and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strategically assign technicians to tasks, optimizing maintenance interventions and reducing machinery downtime.
- Provide mentorship and professional development to the maintenance team, including conducting performance evaluations and guiding disciplinary procedures.
- Troubleshoot and maintain a diverse array of packaging and processing equipment, ensuring seamless operation.
- Undertake routine maintenance of electrical systems and proactively address equipment malfunctions.
- Demonstrate expertise in electronic controls, PLC maintenance, and the troubleshooting of automated systems.
- Oversee mechanical and electrical modifications and maintenance, adhering to industry best practices.
- Supervise packaging equipment maintenance, including fillers, seamers, case packers, labelers, and palletizers.
- Manage the maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, and systems.
- Champion the development and implementation of a computerized maintenance management system.
- Uphold company safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices diligently.
- Provide direct supervision to maintenance mechanics and PMC Coordinator, guiding the team with your knowledge and expertise.
- Bachelor s degree in a relevant field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a background in food distribution, warehousing, or food manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with strong mechanical aptitude and quick learning ability.
- Training or certification in food manufacturing equipment maintenance.
- Comprehensive understanding of food regulations, GFSI, HACCP, GMP, food security, safety, and quality standards.
- Exceptional multitasking skills and the physical capability to handle demanding tasks.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety and quality fundamentals.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is considered an asset.
