About The Role

Are you a self-starter who takes pride in keeping buildings operating at their best? CBRE is seeking a well-rounded Building Maintenance Engineer to support a Corporate HQ in Midtown Manhattan. Thisrole is ideal for an experienced facilities professional who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and applying a broad range of maintenance skills across building systems.

In this role, you'll apply a broad range of maintenance andrepair skills across building systems, including painting/patching,carpentry, roofing, and Electrical and plumbing
. As part of CBRE'sEngineering & Technical Services team, you'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure the facility remains safe,efficient, and operating at peak performance.

What You'll Do
  • Assign work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs. Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies andtools.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to buildings, plumbing,structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and lighting systems. Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations,governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations andwork safety.
  • Develop an energy management program. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients,co-workers, and/or supervisors.
  • Direct the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Review and sign off on inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.
  • Showcase expertise in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function.
  • Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades others,often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point ofview.

What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job‑related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
