Status: Seasonal / Full-Time / Part-Time (depending on needs)
Pay Rate Range: $16.50-$18.00
Availability Limits: Weekend and Holiday availability required
Position Summary
The Equipment Technician in the Rentals Department at Swain Resort is responsible for fitting, adjusting, and maintaining ski and snowboard rental equipment. This role ensures that all guests receive properly functioning and safely fitted equipment, helping to provide a positive and seamless rental experience.
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and assist with properly fitting rental ski and snowboard equipment.
- Adjust bindings, boots, and gear to meet manufacturer safety standards and guest needs.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain rental equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Receive returned equipment, inspect for damage, and store appropriately.
- Monitor rental equipment inventory and communicate repair or replacement needs to the Rentals Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the rental area and technician workspace.
- Provide a safe and efficient rental experience for guests while supporting the Rentals team.
- Assist with other Rentals Department tasks as needed during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in ski or snowboard rentals or equipment repair preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn ski/snowboard binding adjustment and repair techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest safety.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and available to work weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods.
