Position: Equipment Maintenance Supervisor (Weekend Shift)

Job Summary

Equipment Maintenance Supervisor – Newark, DE (Full‑time, on‑site, weekend shift Friday – Sunday, 6AM–6PM). Reports to Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering at Bloom Energy. This role leads a high‑technical equipment maintenance team to support BMCD manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain a fast‑paced, highly technical Equipment Maintenance Team.
  • Develop and implement strategies for Corrective, Preventative, and Predictive Maintenance to support manufacturing operations.
  • Advise on new equipment required to enable business growth.
  • Evaluate systems and machines, determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Leadership and Facilities Management to plan work priorities, obtain necessary permissions, and assess resources needed to complete tasks.
  • Prioritize work assignments and delegate tasks based on team members’ skills and experience.
  • Create a system for tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as safety, cost, and task completion time, and provide dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and on budget.
  • Advise key stakeholders on technical concerns or complex concepts related to production and testing equipment.
  • Train team members and track performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency required;
    Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in facilities/maintenance management or building operations maintenance, with at least 3 years of hands‑on supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Hands‑on practical knowledge of the technical aspects of production and facilities equipment.
  • In‑depth knowledge of systems, tools, and procedures used in equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations, including electrical safety procedures (NFPA 70E).
  • Computer systems knowledge, including proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to learn and use maintenance computer software to initiate and track work orders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish effective cross‑functional relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated leadership acumen.
  • Team player with the ability to make cross‑functional impacts.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills requiring independent judgment and action.
  • Computer programming and PLC experience (preferred).
Physical Requirements
  • Stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours per shift.
  • Occasionally lift or carry 25–50 lbs.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areas (e.g., safety glasses, safety‑toed boots).

Salary Range

$74,600.00 – $ (based on skills and experience).
