What will you be doing?As a Front Counter Sales & Battery Technician, you'll be one of the first people our customers interact with. You'll combine your customer service skills with hands-on technical knowledge to work with our customers to find the right solution.
Key Responsibilities- Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service at the front counter
- Assist customers with selecting the correct battery and related products for their vehicles
- Install batteries in customer vehicles
- Test automotive batteries and alternators to help diagnose starting and charging-system issues
- Assist customers with basic battery and electrical troubleshooting
- Build and fabricate battery cables and other battery-related products to customer specifications
- Use basic hand tools and shop equipment safely and properly
- Receive, organize, and stock batteries and other inventory
- Help load and unload batteries and other materials
- Sort, handle, and recycle scrap batteries
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work with the warehouse, delivery, and installation teams as needed
- Follow all company safety procedures and proper battery-handling practices
- Perform other branch duties as needed
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, reach, kneel, and work in and around vehicles
- Comfortable working in a hands-on shop and customer-facing environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Forklift and warehouse experience a plus
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to learn battery testing, installation, and electrical diagnostic procedures
- Automotive/mechanical experience is preferred
- Experience with soldering, electronics repair, electrical work, or cable fabrication is a plus
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Reliable, dependable, and willing to work as part of a team
- Valid driver's license required
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen required
