Housekeeper / Home Cleaner Needed - Newark, DE
We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and detail-oriented housekeeper/home cleaner to help maintain our private home in Newark, Delaware, near the University of Delaware.
The previous "Part-time Nanny Care near University of Delaware" has been filled.
Schedule:- Once a week or once every two weeks
- Flexible weekday scheduling
- Most visits will take approximately 2.5-3 hours
$80 per visit
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can independently work through a cleaning routine. The goal is to have the agreed-upon work completed rather than simply working a set number of hours.
Please note:
Someone will always be present in the home while cleaning is being done.
- Vacuuming carpets and rugs
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Dusting accessible surfaces
- Cleaning kitchen counters, sink, and stovetop
- Wiping down tables and surfaces
- Cleaning all 2.5 bathrooms
- Cleaning toilets, sinks, mirrors, counters, and bathroom floors
- Emptying trash/recycling
- General tidying, including picking up and organizing children's toys, books, and activity materials.
- Loading/unloading or putting away dishes
- Folding and putting away laundry (when time permits)
Each visit will also include a rotating deeper-cleaning task. For example:
- Thoroughly deep-clean one bathroom
- Focus on shower/tub, grout, fixtures, etc.
- Organizing and straightening the pantry
- Organizing a linen closet
- Address another area of the house that needs extra attention
We don't expect everything to be deep-cleaned every visit. The goal is to keep the house consistently clean and rotate through the areas that need additional attention.
What we're looking for:- Dependable and punctual
- Trustworthy and comfortable working independently
- Good attention to detail
- Previous residential cleaning/housekeeping experience preferred
- Someone interested in a regular, ongoing arrangement
- Comfortable working in a home where someone will always be present
- Comfortable working around children and children's belongings
$80 per visit for the standard cleaning. Additional compensation can be discussed for cleaning tasks that go significantly beyond the normal routine.
