Summary: In this role, you'll be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of Ingredients process equipment systems on a daily basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, install and troubleshoot process equipment systems comprised of pumps, agitator, heat exchangers, tanks, reactors, piping systems, valves, and other mechanical systems
  • Ensures operation of process equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, follows diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Monitor, repair, maintain and document all field mechanical equipment including plant safety systems and plant power systems
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Ensure that all equipment are safely released and all documents are in order prior to starting work
  • Ensure all work orders are completed and closed out properly in the CMMS system. (SAP PM)
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks
  • Conducts job tasks in compliance with company, state and federal safety and environmental procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, engineering degree preferred
  • At least 10 years of mechanical maintenance experience in chemical, food, or pharma environment
  • Experience with rotating equipment
  • Knowledge of Reliability Maintenance Techniques, with formal training a huge plus
  • Experience with CMMS (SAP PM)
  • Preferred:
    Certification in one of the following:
    • Thermography
    • Oil Analysis
    • Vibration Analysis
    • Lubrication
    • ISA Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (CIMM)

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Physical work environment requires working outdoors during inclement weather, in and around production equipment at heights and confined spaces.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach, push, pull, twist with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, for extend periods of time and on regular basis, or crawl; talk, hear and smell
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
  • The employee must frequently utilize forklift trucks for movement of heavy material
  • Ability to be on call as necessary and provide technical assistance as required, including evenings, holidays and weekends, via telephonic or on-site work.
