Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Assistant at Civita Care Center at Newington, you'll have a hands-on role where you'll assist in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facility, perform routine maintenance tasks, help with groundskeeping duties, and ensure all equipment and supplies are in good condition and properly stored. You'll also respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff, collaborate with the maintenance team to address larger repair projects, and maintain a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facility

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs

  • Help with groundskeeping duties, including landscaping and snow removal

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for events and activities

  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are in good condition and properly stored

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to address larger repair projects

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents and staff

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently

  • Capability to lift and move heavy objects, including furniture and equipment

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and techniques

  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact with residents and staff in a professional manner

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges
