TERMS:

Twelve-month - Hourly

RESPONSIBLE TO:
Maintenance Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:
- High school diploma, GED, vocational school, or any equivalent combination of training and experience desired.
Experience:

Evaluated on an individual basis.
Physical Requirement:
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Skills Required:
- Ability to work independently and manage workload.
- Basic working knowledge of construction and/or routine maintenance and repair procedures.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to read blueprints and schematics will be considered a plus.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
Required Experience:
- Successful recent work experience in a field related to this position.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Perform the task of this trade at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems at all Coweta County school facilities

Regularly inspect buildings, systems, and equipment for potential issues

Assist HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and other trades as necessary

Prepare bids, budgets, and cost estimates

Purchase necessary parts and supplies

Maintain in a serviceable condition, tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks

Hold a valid Georgia driver's permit and maintain in a good, clean, serviceable condition a county-owned vehicle

Utilize a computer work order system to complete assigned tasks

Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices

Perform such additional responsibilities as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
