Housekeeper – Benton House of Newnan Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices.
  • Sweep, dust, mop, and wet mop all floors and stairways; spot‑clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners; rotate runners in hallways and entryways.
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures and facilities; restock dispensers as necessary.
  • Scrub bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills.
  • Maintain equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Collect trash and refuse from work areas and place in designated pick‑up areas.
  • Responsible for collecting, cleaning, and redistributing the community laundry.
  • Maintain the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
  • Store and lock cleaning chemicals when not in use.
  • Keep cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards out of the way to avoid blocking exits and to comply with fire codes.
  • Report needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the residents.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Interest in working with a senior population.
  • Interact with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Regularly stand, walk, and use hands and arms for tasks such as reaching, lifting, or moving objects.
  • Frequently climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision and color vision.
