The Facilities Technician works with the Maintenance Manager to keep Gregory Packaging’s building, utility systems, grounds, and retention pond safe and in good working order. As part of a team in an industrial facility, the technician performs inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and other building systems.

Key systems include the ammonia refrigeration system, boilers, air compressors, HVAC, wastewater, and the generator. The technician also manages facility vendors, keeps accurate maintenance and regulatory records, and works closely with Human Resources on employee safety and regulatory compliance.

• Perform daily facility inspections, and maintain the building, grounds, and retention pond.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair building and utility systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, ammonia system, boilers, air compressors, wastewater, and generator.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment and systems operational.
• Troubleshoot equipment, make repairs, and perform adjustments and calibrations.
• Repair and maintain a variety of facility systems, components, and structures, including light carpentry.

• Conduct hourly checks and observations, and make adjustments to keep equipment running properly.
• Monitor and interpret the performance of equipment, gauges, meters, and control panels.
• Collect samples, complete data sheets, and make sure all regulatory documentation is accurate.

• Work with Human Resources to oversee employee safety and regulatory compliance, and follow all manufacturing safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO).
• Manage facility vendors and contractors.
• Order, store, and account for chemicals, materials, and supplies.
• Write, update, and complete work orders in the CMMS, and keep maintenance records and reports current.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow best practices.
• Perform other maintenance and facilities duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5–10 years of facilities maintenance or repair experience in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Experience with steam boilers and air compressors.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including writing, editing, and completing work orders.
