• Maintain overall cleanliness of Newport Aquarium by completing daily checklists and cleaning tasks.
• Contribute to overall building maintenance during operation and after hours.
• Proactively find ways to better the overall Guest Experience.
• Engage guests with animal facts, information and personal connections through interpretation.
• Daily garbage, recycling, and compost disposal.
• Perform deep cleans using specified machines (e.g., pressure washer, carpet extractor, hard floor scrubber).
• Fulfill House and Grounds duties during after‑hours events.
• Complete additional cleaning and maintenance tasks assigned by House and Grounds Lead or Supervisor.

• 18 years old or older.
• Willingness to become Bloodborne Pathogens trained.
• Knowledge of aquatic life a plus.
• Friendly, outgoing, and proactive approach.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision while remaining motivated and on task.
• Availability for a flexible schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Must be able to work between 4:00 pm and 2:00 am (Second Shift).

• Successful completion of pre‑employment background check.
• In good health and capable of performing strenuous or heavy physical labor.
• No history of allergy related to animals or plants that may interfere with ability to work.
• Ability to remain on feet for long periods, climb stairs, bend and stoop.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• No impairment of sight, smell, hearing, touch, balance, and agility that might interfere with ability to work.
• Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Immunocompetence (possible exposure to infections and parasitic disease).
