JOB SUMMARY:

The Substitute Custodian provides district-wide coverage for custodial shifts on an as-needed basis, including absences due to call-outs, vacations, and special events. This role also supports facility maintenance and improvement projects to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across all district buildings and grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

  Minimum of one (1) year of custodial or maintenance experience in a public or private setting preferred.
• ?
  
  Prior experience in a school system is highly desirable.

KNOWLEDGE:

• ?
  
  Familiarity with cleaning materials, methods, tools, and custodial equipment preferred.

EDUCATION:

• ?
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
• ?
  
  Walking, climbing, stooping, reaching , pushing, talking, pulling, crawling, crouching, lifting, (50 lb minimum), handling hearing, grasping standing, kneeling, carrying, seeing , balancing and turning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Maintain district buildings in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition, including classrooms, corridors, stairwells, and restrooms.

  Collect and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
• ?
  
  Set up and break down furniture and equipment for school activities and events.
• ?
  
  Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• ?
  
  Assist with grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removal.
• ?
  
  Perform additional duties as assigned.
