Maintenance Mechanic, Permanent Support Staff, 2nd Shift (Anticipated)

Council Rock School District – Newtown, Pennsylvania.

Key responsibilities include maintenance and support for the district’s facilities during the 2nd shift:

• Maintaining building mechanical, plumbing, electrical and automated control systems.
• Setting up and taking down furniture for school assemblies.
• Performing general maintenance of school facilities, including boiler plant management.
• Conducting roof inspections and clearing drains.
• Handling lawn, snow removal, playground, and exterior maintenance tasks.
• Coordinating preventative maintenance with service contract vendors.
• Moving classroom furniture within buildings or to the loading dock for transportation.
• Assisting with emergency situations, school event preparation, and the commencement of the school year.

Physical capability to work on ladders, climb, and descend roof levels is required. Effective communication with supervisors, principals, teachers, and custodial staff is essential, along with basic computer skills. Overtime may be expected during winter weather and emergency events.

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Completion of mandatory PA public school employment paperwork within the last year:

• PA State Police Clearance (Act 33)
• Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
• FBI Fingerprints (Act 114) – Indento Go
• Arrest/Conviction Report form, PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), physician’s health form and TB test.

8.0 hours per day, 5 days per week, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (Benefit Eligible). Overtime may be required.
