This is a hands‑on Camp Facilities and Maintenance Manager role for someone who knows how to fix, improve, and maintain camp with day‑to‑day repairs, general upkeep, and preventative maintenance across the camp. While outside contractors may be used for specialized projects, this role is ideal for someone who can accurately diagnose issues, fix them correctly the first time, and take pride in keeping a property safe, functional, and running smoothly.

Located south of Benton, KY, this 183‑acre camp has 2.3 miles of shoreline on beautiful Kentucky Lake. Bear Creek offers a sand beach, log cabins, canoes, sailboats, pontoon boats, stand‑up paddle boards, kayaks and more, as well as an archery/slingshot range and a teams course.

Job Summary

The Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana is a 110‑year‑old organization that serves the Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana region. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Manager to ensure the flawless operation and maintenance of our facility (Bear Creek Aquatic Camp in Benton, KY). As a Camp Facilities and Maintenance Manager you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our camp's physical assets, ensuring the safety and comfort of our visitors, volunteers, and staff.

You will be responsible for maintaining grounds, buildings, and equipment according to established guidelines to ensure they are ready for use and occupancy. Develop and maintain community resources in support of the GS mission, act as a resource manager to volunteers, and provide excellent customer service to campers through communication. Recommend ideas for camp development and maintenance. Qualified applicants must be able to demonstrate joint accountability for all council operational goals by working beyond the boundaries of the job description and department as required for the success of the council.

Provides supervision to all contract service providers. This position does not require staff members to live onsite of camp property.

Preferred Experience And Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years in maintenance or related field

Organizational Requirements

  • Ability to successfully pass a background check
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Class I sewage treatment plant operator's license
  • Proof of meeting state requirements regarding driver's license, and liability insurance, if applicable
  • Subscribe to the principals of the Girl Scout Movement and become a registered member of Girl Scouts
  • Each employee has the responsibility for actively supporting and promoting the Council's commitment to diversity and for developing Council resources through increased membership, strengthening community connections, serving girls and fund development
Working Conditions And Environment
  • Non‑traditional work hours expected
  • This position requires working in the internal and external environment
  • Travel to other camps and offices as needed
Physical Requirements
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
