- Assists faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction.
- Assists faculty with the supervision and mentoring of students during scheduled lab sessions or tutoring sessions, as needed.
- Assists faculty with maintaining a clean and safe lab environment.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment, as instructed.
- Assists with inventory maintenance and requisition of supplies.
- Obtains materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials.
- Completes ALL required employee trainings.
- Meets with students, staff members, supervisors, as needed.
- Assists with special projects or initiatives, as needed.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by program chair.
Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of the following courses: COFC 1080, WELD 1005, WELD 1015, WELD 1025, and WELD 1035.
- Six (6) month to one (1) year of related work experience in a welding, maintenance, or manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
- Completion of the Shielded Metal Arc Welding certificate, Gas Metal Arc Welding certificate, Gas Tungsten Welding certificate, or the Welding Technology diploma.
Core Competencies
Demonstrates expertise in welding techniques and safety procedures while providing instructional support to faculty and students. Capable of maintaining a clean lab environment and managing inventory effectively.
